Eschatology Fascism (1)

Dajjal and the pursuit of chiliasm even unto the end of time.

"Like it or not, the Zionist regime is heading toward annihilation," Ahmadinejad said at the opening of a three-day conference in support of the Palestinians attended by Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal and other Hamas members. "The Zionist regime is a rotten, dried tree that will be eliminated by one storm," he [Amahdinejad] said.

With projections that Iran could develop a nuclear bomb within the next two-and-a-half years, a high-ranking IDF officer from Military Intelligence told The Jerusalem Post over the weekend that the successful enrichment of uranium announced last week proved that diplomatic efforts to stop Teheran's race to the bomb had failed.

"The way it looks now, it is doubtful that the United Nations and the international efforts will succeed in stopping Iran," the high-ranking officer said. "Iran spit in the world's face but the world hasn't done anything."

Events in Iran are certainly out of the control of bloggers. That's not the end of the story, that's just the beginning. But even then we begin in media res. Let's step back into the darkness of the Islamic mind to see why it's likely that we will come in time to war against Iran and Islam across the troubled face of the world. Let's look at the end of the world.

The Mahdi will appear during the last days of the world, and will precede the second coming of Jesus, who Muslims believe to be the messiah. The two are different individuals, but they will work together to fight evil in the world and to cement justice on Earth. One of the signs which will indicate the emergence of al-Mahdi will be that in the month of Ramadan prior to his emergence an eclipse of the sun and moon will occur. These signs were visible right after the claim of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad to be the Promised Messiah and Mahdi. Mahdi means "the guided one" and he will apparently come from Mecca and rule from Damascus. He will not defeat the false Messiah, known as Dajjal though, that will be done by Jesus who will slay the pretender. Once Dajjal is defeated, Jesus and the Mahdi will live on Earth for a number of years. According to some traditions, Jesus will get married and have a family, and then die. There are claims that a grave is dug for him next to Muhammad's in the Masjid al-Nabawi in Medina, but whether or not this is factual is unknown.

It's not possible for us to say what goes on in the mind of the maniac ruling Iran these days, A mahdi nejad. Within the nut-house that is Islam I suggest that the man is convinced that he is the Mahdi returned to usher in the end of the world. Most of us know enough already about the idea of the Mahdi, but it's possible few know of the idea of Dajjal.
****

Although the word 'Dajjal' - which comes from the Arabic word meaning 'to deceive', 'to cheat', 'to smear with tar' - does not appear in the Qur'an, the Dajjal is described in considerable detail in all major collections of Hadith, including the two well-known Sahih collections of Imam al-Bukhari and Imam Muslim, especially in the sections which are concerned with 'the last days', the period of time immediately preceding the end of the world, as well as in many other compilations of Hadith such as ImamAl-Mishkat Al-Masabih, The Gardens of the Righteous, and Al-Muwatta' of Imam Malik:

There are three aspects of the Dajjal. There is Dajjal the individual. There is Dajjal as a worldwide social and cultural phenomenon. There is Dajjal as an unseen force. (According to scholarly opinions, the latter two aspects will be established before Dajjal the individual will appear. That is, he will appear when the support system he needs is in place throughout the world either directly or indirectly).

Dajjal the individual will be the epitome of the kafir system, the ultimate kafir, and therefore inevitably to be chosen as the leader of that system, when he appears. The letters KFR are the basic root letters of the Arabic word Kufr, or Kafir. Kufr is to cover up and to reject. The kafir is the one who covers up the true nature of existence - and who rejects the messengers who are sent by Allah to show people how to live in harmony with what is within in them and with what is without them, and to worship and have knowledge of Allah. The Prophet Muhammad said that kufr is one system. The Kufr system is Dajjal. The three aspects of Dajjal are in fact interlinked and indivisible.

Because of the centrality of this concept there are a few further short entries below, following which we will look a t a piece from the LA Times on Iran, Dajjal, and the endo f the world as we know it. In many ways this is not up to us but is for the Muslims to make the first stupid and fatal move. This might well be the end of the world, but for Iran and the Muslim world, not for our own. And yet there is much that we as private citizens can do to make ourselves useful in this weird Islamic nightmare of phantasy politics.

ad-Dajjal (Arabic: ("The Deceiver") is an evil figure in Islamic eschatology, who will appear before Yaum al-Qiyamah (Day of the Resurrection). He is the [Muslim version of the] Antichrist....

Protection from the Dajjal

The Prophet Muhammad asked his followers to recite the first and last ten verses of Surah Al-Kahf (The Cave) as protection from the Dajjal. These verses deal with the beliefs and activities of the Christian nations. He also taught his followers to pray, "Ya Allah! I seek refuge in Thee from the trial of the Dajjal." He also said, There is no tribulation greater than that of the Dajjal from the creation of Adam to the day of resurrection.

The end of the Dajjal

The occurrence of the Dajjal will correspond with the appearance of the Imam Mahdi, who will rally the faithful on earth to oppose him. Eventually, Isa (the name of Jesus in Arabic) will return from Heaven and slay the Dajjal. According to many interpretations this will occur near The Gate of Ludd (ancient city of Lydda) [1]. This will be followed by a Golden Age for Islam (not to be confused with the separate Islamic Golden Age) in which there are only true believers and almost everyone converts to Islam. Eventually decline will set in and by the will of Allah the End will come for Man.... No one is advised to try to fight the Dajjal because the final killing will be done by Isa (Jesus).

****

Ubadah bin Saamit (R.A.) once said, "I have explained Dajjal to you but I fear that you might not have understood. Maseeh Dajjal will be short, and his legs will be crooked. The hair on his head will be extremely twisted. He will have one eye (with which he can see, and this is the protruding eye about which other ahadeeth inform us) while his other eye will be totally flat. It will neither be deep (in its socket) nor protruding.

If you still have any doubt regarding him then remember that your Sustainer (Rabb) is not one-eyed. (Because Dajjal will eventually claim to be Allah). In a lengthy Hadith narrated by Abu Saeed (R.A.), Rasulullah (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam) is reported to have said: "Dajjal will come but it will be prohibited and impossible for him to enter Madina. He will set up camp in a barren land outside Madina. One person who will be the best of persons will confront him by saying: "I bear witness that you are the very Dajjal about whom Rasulullah (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam) has informed us."

Dajjal will say to his followers, "If I kill this person and then revive him, you people will still doubt me?"

They will reply, "No."

He will then kill this person, (according to another narration he will split this person in two) and thereafter revive him. This person will say, "I am totally convinced more than ever before that you definitely are Dajjal."

****

All the signs of the end of the world are now apparent, except for the last four major signs, and it would appear that even these are now imminent.

Amongst the signs already apparent are: that the poor and the destitute build tall buildings in which people glorify themselves; that the slave girl gives birth to her mistress, one meaning of which is that the mother who is enslaved by her work situation has children who grow up to be uncontrollable and who dominate and tyrannise the family situation; that women outnumber men; that there are many women who no longer give birth to children; that everyone is concerned with working so that not only the men but also the women go out to work; that there is an abundance of food, much of which has no blessing; that when a person is offered food it is refused; that time is short; that there are many people who are hard hearted and mean; that there is much fighting and killing of people; that there are women who wear their clothes like a second skin; that attempts are made to make the deserts green; that there are people who attempt to change the balance of nature and who interfere with and interrupt the basic cycles and processes of existence; and finally that the sun rises in the west, one meaning of which is that the life transaction of Islam is adopted by people living in the western world.

The last four major signs are the appearance of Dajjal the individual; the appearance of the Mahdi, the rightly guided leader of the Muslims who will fight Dajjal; the re-appearance of the prophet Jesus, on him be peace, who as well as breaking all the crosses, killing all the pigs, marrying and having children and praying with the Muslims, will also kill Dajjal; and the appearance of Juge wa ma Juge, a tribe of people who will scatter across the world, creating destruction.

It is clear that before Dajjal the individual appears on earth, there must already be present and established the system, and the people running that system, which and who will support and follow him when he does appear. Evidence of that system, and the people running that system, is evidence of Dajjal as a world wide social and cultural phenomenon, and Dajjal as an unseen force. The signs of these broader aspects of Dajjal, that is what Dajjal the individual will epitomise, are very apparent today, which would indicate that Dajjal the individual is soon to appear .

In the same way the Mahdi will be, when he appears, the epitome of Islam, the way of the prophet Muhammad, although it must be said immediately that he will be like a drop compared to the ocean of the prophet Muhammad, may the blessings and peace of Allah be on him. It follows that the Mahdi will be the one who is inevitably recognised and accepted by all true muslims as their leader. The prophet Muhammad said that the muslims are one body.

Kufr is at war with Islam. Islam is at war with Kufr. Dajjal will fight the Mahdi. The Mahdi will fight Dajjal. The prophet Jesus, who was not crucified, but taken by Allah out of this world into the Unseen, and another who looked like him crucified in his place, the prophet Jesus, on him be peace, having returned to this world, will kill Dajjal.

How delusional are the Iranians? Probably not very delusional at all if one were to judge the likelihood of the West responding in any meaningful way to a major attack on it based on past practice in the U.N., the E.U. or even the U.S. itself. Look, we run away pretty quickly. If the Iranians believe they have god on their side, and they do, and if they see us as professional cowards with too much money and too much comfort and too little manliness to protect our women from rape and death, then what's to prevent them from seeing there will only be more of the same cowardice if they hit us again and again and again?

Messianic Fervor Grows Among Iran's Shiites

Many, including the president, pray for the Mahdi's return to defeat evil. Western critics fear such beliefs may lead to irrational policies.

By John Daniszewski, Times Staff Writer
April 15, 2006

JAMKARAN, Iran — Each Tuesday, thousands of people arrive here at dusk by car and bus. Beneath the twinkling lights of the blue-tiled mosque, they sit on carpets, following prayers broadcast over loudspeakers: families, pilgrims from distant provinces, young men frantic with expectation, women hoping for cures.

The devout make their way to the back of the shrine. There, they write their hopes, dreams and prayers onto slips of paper that they drop into two wells — one for the men, one for the women. They pray, eyes squeezed shut, until moved along politely by mosque workers. For many devout Shiite Muslims, this is a place of miracles — the place of the Mahdi, the messiah. From lowly carpet weavers to Iran's president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, devotion to the Mahdi and anticipation of his return appears to be crescendoing in Iran.

Particularly on Tuesdays, the day most associated with the Mahdi's blessings, the night here is filled with fervent prayers, a reflection of the ardent faith that gave rise to the Islamic Revolution, and which conservative supporters of Ahmadinejad hope will sustain the nation in any confrontation with the West over Iran's nuclear program.

All Muslims await the appearance of the Mahdi; the largest branch of Shiites, those known as Twelvers, await his return.

To the majority of Shiites, the Mahdi was the last of the prophet Muhammad's true heirs, his 12 righteous descendants chosen by God to lead the faithful.

The Mahdi, the Twelfth Imam, the Imam of Our Times, was born Muhammad ibn Hasan and went into hiding around 878. Shiites believe he maintained contact with representatives until 941, when all communication from him ceased. When the time is ripe, they teach, he will reappear and, along with Jesus, will lead Muslims in a struggle to rid the world of corruption and establish justice. The Mahdi ordered a shrine built in Jamkaran nearly 1,000 years ago, Shiite teachings hold.

It would be a caricature to paint the whole country as caught up in messianic fervor. Even among the clergy, there are many who treat the Mahdi's return as figurative rather than literal. But at a time when many here believe that Iran, and by extension its brand of Shiism, is under threat by the West, the Mahdi can be a useful symbol for the government to rally the people.

For Iran's opponents in Washington and elsewhere, the talk of the Mahdi's return, with its apocalyptic overtones, causes worry. Some critics of Iran fear that religious zeal might overcome reason when it comes to setting the nation's policies.

Ahmadinejad's particular attention to the Mahdi in his speeches and actions — soon after taking office, he allocated $20 million to improve and enlarge the Jamkaran Mosque complex — has been noted by Western critics.

So, too was Ahmadinejad's appearance in September before the United Nations General Assembly, when he said a prayer calling for the Mahdi's return: "O mighty Lord, I pray to hasten the emergence of … the promised one … the one who will fill this world with justice and peace."

Belief in the Mahdi energizes many of the 8 million to 10 million pilgrims who come annually to Qom, the seminary city two hours south of Tehran that is considered among Iran's most holy places. The Jamkaran Mosque stands just outside Qom.

"A prayer in the Jamkaran Mosque is almost like going to Mecca," said Adel Safr, a cleric with the Qom mosque's international department. He helps receive foreign visitors in a room ornately decorated to resemble a garden.

"According to some of the sayings, if someone comes each week, 40 times in 40 weeks, he can be worthy to meet the Mahdi when he returns," Safr said.

Visiting the shrine, he said, was "a reaffirmation to say to him that we are still with you — we came because we believe the Mahdi is caring and that he is going to cleanse the world of injustice and corruption."

To Safr, a 34-year-old who has been studying in Qom for four years, the troubles that have racked the Persian Gulf region in recent years could be portents of the Mahdi's return.

Just as some Christians see warfare in the Middle East as reflections of Biblical prophecy, some in Iran see a religious pattern in recent events.

The destruction of an important Shiite shrine in Samarra, Iraq, the Mahdi's birthplace and where he went into hiding, and the sectarian violence in that country are seen as fulfillments of prophecies about the conditions in which he would reappear.

"This is why Mr. Bush has put divisions in Saudi Arabia and Iraq — to kill the Mahdi and make Jesus the messiah," Safr said. "I am serious. There have been speeches in the Pentagon about it."

There is knowledge and there is belief, and even if the two contradict in obvious flaming nuttiness, to the believer it matters not a speck. The easiest examples for the average person today are socialists who believe in spite of all the present reality any other nutter would immediately agree to. To believe in the stupidest ideas is not to be stupid. It means only that one has compartmentalised the mind and is able to section off and block out those parts of reality one cares not to understand or accept as present. We can't dismiss the Muslims as totally stupid or insane. They are but they are also capable sometimes of intelligent reasoning to an extent. They can have a rational conversation to a point, and they will also turn into jabbering idiots in a lash going on about Dajjal and giant spiders.

Yes, we might well nuke 'em. "What do you do when you live in a zoo?"

Canadian Government Terrorist Supporter

We picked up this story from True Peers at Covenant Zone.

Do you care what happens in Canada? Does it matter anywhere on Earth what the Canadian government does? You bet it does. It means your life is effected directly when the Canadian government hires and promotes a Left dhimmi fascist to implement government policy based on fascist Islamism and terrorist support. Friends, the Canadian government hired itself a terrorist supporter to make policy.

Daniel Pipes writes the following on the latest move by Canadian fascist dhimmis and in particular on one Crystal Procyshen. this is the equivalent of the U.S. State Department or the British Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Canada has hired a terrorist sympathiser to work out our relations with Islamic terrorists. After a short intro from Pipes we'll turn to the woman herself to find out just what the hell the Canadians have done this time.

If we suffer from a terrorist attack on this Earth it will be in part due to the Canadian government hiring and supporting a terrorist sympathiser to make policy decisions for them. If you or your family or you countrymen are killed because of Islamic terrorism, if the Candian government hires people who feel that our friends, us, that we are a cancer, you can thank the Canadian government for this:

Canada's Muslims Provide "Strategic Advice on Relations with the Muslim World"

Canada's Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT) has today created a "Muslim Communities Working Group Operational Unit" (FMCG). This is explained in an administrative notice from David Mulroney, assistant deputy minister for bilateral relations, to "All employees at Headquarters, at missions and at regional offices," and leaked to me.

Mulroney (who is slated to become the foreign affairs adviser to the new prime minister, Steven Harper) signs off in a slightly menacing tone, stressing the seriousness of the FMCG: "This unit is a priority for the Deputy Minister and for me. I count on your active collaboration with the FMCG in the service of the Department's and the government's interests."

Comments: (1) Muslims will from now on have a special say with regard to Canadian foreign and trade issues touching on Muslims.

(2) The privileging of Islam proceeds apace, with Muslims in at least four Western countries giving "strategic advice on relations with the Muslim world."

(3) This is a terrible mistake. Belonging to a certain group should not give one special authority in dealing with that group, and especially not in a governmental context.

[....]

(5) One can only guess at the intellectual environment of FMCG but one of the individuals mentioned as a player in it, Crystal Procyshen, wrote a strident article against Israel in 1997, "JERUSALEM! What is the TRUTH? Travel and Truth:A Volunteers' Experience in Palestine."

Making a difference

Support for students helps them change world

by Sade Nasser

Paving the way for the next generation – that's how Crystal Procyshen, BA'01 and winner of several U of C scholarships, sees the impact donors have made when They give to student awards.

Getting an academic-merit-based scholarship builds confidence, she says. "Being a scholarship recipient gives the student great momentum to continue their success, as well as fostering a sense of leadership."

In addition to being a great source of financial assistance, "the experience of receiving and applying for scholarships, made me become aware of the standards that donors expect out of young people," she says.

Procyshen re-thought her university plans after a post-high-school graduation trip to Mexico. Her experience there opened her eyes to the issues of development and the plight of the poor in other countries.

When she got back to Canada, Procyshen changed her chosen field of study from theatre to political science.

"I realized that I wanted to delve further into these issues," says Procyshen. She tailored her studies to fit her needs, by developing an Arabic language program with a professor in religious studies while majoring in political science. Procyshen has since gone on to finish a master's program from McGill University specializing in Middle Eastern studies – a passion of hers.

So far, so good. Now a little bit more:

This September, Crystal Procyshen will join nine other students and professionals from ten nations as a 2003-2005 Rotary World Peace Scholar -- and the only Canadian -- at the International Christian University Peace Institute in Tokyo, Japan. This scholarship is awarded annually to 70 individuals worldwide and funds master's degrees in peace research at seven renowned institutes.

Originally from Wetaskiwin, Alberta, the twenty-four year old is a recent McGill graduate with a Dean's Honours List MA Political Science. In addition to being a published specialist on the Middle East, a speaker of Arabic, French, Spanish, and reader of Cyrillic and Greek, Crystal has been a competitive and professional ballet and jazz dancer for 19 years. Her academic, linguistic, and artistic interests have taken her to the Palestinian Territories, Israel, Egypt, Cyprus, England, Central America, and the Caribbean, where she has done everything from teaching English and dance, to working with peace dialogue groups and refugee camps, developing policy papers, to producing and performing in dance productions, to shoveling compost in indigenous villages. She has just concluded two years as a fellow at the Center for Developing Area Studies and Inter-university Consortium for Arab Studies in Montreal, and a teaching and research assistant. As well, she is the founder of The Adventure Project -- a new non-profit organization that brings global adventures and learning home to Canadian students.

Procyshen will continue her research on the Middle East, applying alternative sociological approaches to water/resource development, conservation, and related dispute mediation techniques developed in Asia. She plans to travel in Egypt in the summer of 2004 to study the art of desert communities.

Now all I can do is tell the truth-not the tv,newspaper or government truths because those are the ones taking my friends' futures and lives.

Since the Israelis illegaly occupied the autonomous regions of the West Bank, Gaza, and the Golan Heights and East Jerusalem, they routinely torture, kill and deprive Palestinians of their rights. Under Israeli control the Palestinians have no freedom of movement, no freedom of speech or press, no jury of peers,no trials, imprisonment without just cause,no right to education,no right to an attorney, no right to property,no right to trade or profit from good crossing borders.

[....]

If East Jerusalem comesunder full Israeli control, the Palestinians cannot pray at the Temple Mount or Holy Sepulchre. As well, the best Arab hospitals and jobs would be lost-destroying Palestinian lives and livelihood. After July 30, when a bomb by two Hamas suicide bombers exploded in a Jewish market, millions or surviving Palestinians suffered when Israeli closures were imposed. I could feel the effects of the ongoing injustices of the occupation now amplified by this evil violence that ordinary Palestinians do not condone.

[....]

Security is the buzzword of the politicians, it is an alibi to continue oppressing and driving out the Palestinians. There would be no threat to security if justice existed. Palestinians only want their own secular, democratic, free state of current lands and East Jerusalem with human rights practiced and compensation for losses fulfilled. Most importantly they want peace and co-existence with Israel.

[....]

Prisons are torture chambers, the torture causes internal physical and psychological damage. 3500 Palestinians are political prisoners right now. Israel also illegally confiscates Palestinian lands. Land is usually worth $1million US and is the only inheritance for families. My friends watch their homes turned into Jewish stettlements;these red roofs(only 30% inhabited)growing like a tumor across the country and around Jerusalem.

[....]

The Israelis, in order to fulfill their political prophecies of a Zionist state where they would be safe from persecution, are propogating a recurring cycle of hatred towards the Palestinians as they struggle to expand the state of Israel.

[....]

I was educated by youth centers, peace teams, churches,Jewish and Arab lecturers, and most importantly my many friends-of all religions and ethnicities.

Passivists, Actors, and the Charged

The criminal and psychotic regime in Iran has committed itself to war and declared the world kufar: we are now legitimate targets of Muslims, all of us around the world, if we do not convert to Islam. Somehow, that doesn't seem to be raising any eyebrows in our world capitals among those who should be paying as much attention to these things as do bloggers in Vancouver, Canada. The Iranian government just threatened to kill us all. What's not to get?

We looked at what happens in places where Muslims gain a foot-hold. Where Islam is dominant, then the dhimmis are slowly, if there's a bit of luck, slowly strangled as populations till they do not exist any longer. Today we can look at the example of Egypt's Copts. They fare better than most, being a sizable ten percent of the population otherwise Muslim. Turkey has one percent and dropping. Should we look at Sudan? Or how about today we look at Chad? Or we might look at Britain.

In the two posts below we've seen a psychotic triumphalist Muslim regime declare war on the world. We've seen what happens in the event of Islamic victory. Now we'll turn our attention to how we in the West respond to threats of this kind and others. Following that we'll look at what might be a better response on our parts.

In the face of war declared, in the knowledge of total annihilation of all that is non-Muslim, Britain does this:
****

When self-defense is a crime

By the late 1990's, England's crime rate rose to the point where it was worse than France, Germany or the United States. According to the American Spectator:

American and British criminologists have long been puzzled and angered by the fact that Britain seems to have learnt nothing from the experience of New York in successfully reducing crime.

The big drop in virtually all types of crime in New York has generally been attributed to the zero-tolerance policy associated with Mayor Giuliani. Now Britain, far from adopting zero-tolerance, looks like it's adopting a policy of not prosecuting many serious crimes at all. This is the subject of an official Home Office directive to all British police forces. British police have now been told that instead of arresting a range of serious criminals, they can be let off with a caution.

The Home Office says offenses that may now be dealt with by a caution include burglary of a shop or office, threatening to kill, actual bodily harm, and possession of Class A drugs such as heroin or cocaine if police decide a caution would be the best approach....

British law also prohibits self defense - all forms of self-defense. If violent crime were a boxing match, the criminal would have the right to threaten and/or use lethal force, while the victim is restricted to Marquess of Queensbury rules (actually, Robert's Rules of Order).

Guess who always wins.

There have been doubts expressed that a right to self-defense still exists in British law. Following one homicidal home burglary Dr. Ian Stephen, an Honorary Lecturer (Forensic Psychology) at Glasgow Caledonian University, told householders:

"If you attack the burglar, or react in an 'over-the-top' manner... you will inevitably end up on the receiving end of a prison sentence that will far outstrip that imposed on the intruder in your own home.... [W]hen individuals are confronted by intruders there are some actions they should follow. Direct contact should be avoided whenever possible. If unavoidable, the victim should adopt a state of active passivity..."

...as a result.

...London and British crime rates have been increasing for years. Recently total crime rates for London have been estimated at about seven times those of New York for a slightly smaller population and some authorities suggest these figures have been minimized. England and Wales are now accounted by some estimates as the most dangerous places for crime in the developed world.

New York and London have populations of 8 million and 7 million respectively and comparable police budgets, though New York has about 40 percent more police actually on the beat. British papers retail many incidents of British police, rather than preventing crime, being kept busy "celebrating diversity" and prosecuting politically incorrect remarks and behavior (large amounts of money and court time have been spent by the Crown Prosecution Service on cases of children who have made politically incorrect remarks in school playground fights, for instance)...

This isn't an exaggeration. British courts are using the money they've saved by letting violent criminals run free to bring children to court for the crime of insulting each other on the playground.

Some judges are questioning the wisdom of this policy :

Judge Finestein said he thought prosecuting the youngster was "crazy" and urged the Crown Prosecution Service to reverse its decision. He said: "Have we really got to the stage where we are prosecuting 10-year-old boys because of political correctness? I was repeatedly called fat at school. Does this amount to a criminal offence?

He told the court: "This is how stupid the system is getting. There are major crimes out there and the police don't bother to prosecute. If you get your car stolen it doesn't matter, but you get two kids falling out because of racist comments - this is nonsense." The 10 year old who was brought before the court said that the boys had forgiven each other and were friends again.

The changes made to the British legal system seem to be motivated by political correctness and an anti-prison bias :

"This is part of the wider problem that the Home Office has an anti-prison bias. But while they regard prison as uncivilized, they don't seem to care whether the alternatives work or not."
That doesn't explain why they throw people into jail for defending themselves. However, the fact that "they don't seem to care whether the alternatives work or not." explains the motivation behind this and most bad political policy. They're not learning from experience, proven results or research, they're just doing what feels right. If their intentions are good, then the results should be good.

Their efforts to make Britain more civilized are making it a very uncivilized place. Any ten year-old can tell them this is a bad idea

We can shake our heads and wonder aloud if the British are insane. We can do the same in looking at the conditions in France, in Sweden, in Spain, nearly an nation on Earth under threat from Islamic triumphalism. They, Muslims, have declared universal war on jahaliyyah and kufar, on the world of those who are not Muslims and those who are worse, those who refuse Islam. That would be us. And our response to what is clearly an effort to annihilate us by violence and dhimmitude? Well, nothing really, thank you very much.

Most Westerners, those being Japanese and Indian Hindus, Thais and Singaporeans, Russians and Americans, all those who either live in or attempt to live in the modern world, most Western people just don't notice the problem of Islamic jihad and triumphalism at all. Many of the small minority who do find ways of diminishing its importance, claiming it's not a big deal at all, that if only we in the modern West would stop supporting Israel, stop this or than policy, make amends, pay more jizyah, whatever, then the Muslim world would be happy with us, would go back to some state of tolerance and bliss that they'd lived in before we messed up everything and drove them to mad violence. The state of madness in the Muslim world is our fault. We are the actors, we are the motivators, we are the movers who made the world as it is now, and it is terrible; therefore, it is for us to change our ways to accommodate the world of Islam.

Strange to see that by claiming our actions to be responsible for Islam today and its madness that we claim they are merely reactive, having no great volition other than to respond to us. We did this, we did that, and the Muslim world is merely responding to our actions. Let's give them credit, these Muslims with a history of nearly 1,400 years of war, conquest, and extermination, for having some volition of their own, of not being totally passive after all. Muslims actually have a Will to Power all of their own. For modern Western Leftists to take credit for 1,400 years of Islamic conquest is a bit daring, a tad bold, perhaps even a touch stupid.

The stunning arrogance of the Left is matched nicely with the stunning ignorance of the Left. The universe, some brave soul might let them know, does not revolve around the elite at the New York Times editorial desk. Often one will find those who are not simply passive receptors of whatever comes along. Yes, I know that's shocking. In Britain boat-rockers such as we will perhaps find ourselves in prison for mentioning such obvious things. In the giant kindergarten that is the modern West we who are unruly children are sent to the principal. The behaviourists demand good behaviour. We must, in our infantalised states, be passive and listen attentively to our betters. Otherwise, like ten year olds on the playground, we might well be taken to court and sent off to gaol.

Defending ourselves? But no, sir, that is not allowed.

In spite of a declaration of war and the promise of annihilation, in spite of mayhem and murder in our cities and the strutting arrogance of those who feed off our labours, we must remain silent and smiling in the face of it. Children, behave!

Most people are, thank God, rightly passive. Most people do what most people do, and they do so on orders from above. Most people think what most people think, and it is to the good of most. Most people are passive and domesticated. Thank God for it. But the Devil, he has his place too.

In our currently inverted moral universe we have ushered onto the stage a scene played by gnostics. The phantasy we watch unfolding before our amazed eyes is the universe upside down and inside out. This is the theatre of gnositicism. This is the final act, the curtain coming down on this odd farce anytime soon, we can only hope and beg.

In this world where our lives are threatened directly by an exterminating enemy, we are cast as evil extras. We are the fools and villains who know not our evils. We have hired directors and stars to lead us through our paces till we die and are consumed in a glorious finale of the triumph of the primitive and the catharsis of the gnostics, their ascent to the higher realms of weirdness and self-fulfiliment, a gauzy, ephemeral highness of mystical insight reserved only for the special, certain in their destinies.

We, under attack, are evil. We know not the reality of the gnostic truth. It is reserved for our betters. We, the mud-people, must accept our fates and resign ourselves passively to our poor fates. We, worthless and silly, must atone for our mediocrity as beings to allow the greater to ascend to the heights of perfect understanding. The West is evil, caught in a materialism of the material world. We, fools that we are, are enamoured of the trivial and the shadowy, slaves to our lack of knowledge, seeing only reflections on cave walls of a lesser reality. We buy things. We own things. We struggle for things. And things, being material, are lesser than the highest knowledge to which the gnostic rises. We are a drag. We are guilty simply because we exist.

We, the mud-people, are caught up in the nets of illusion and materialism. We are consumers of the waste-products of the intellectuals. We disgust them. Nor do we honor them; and therefore we enrage them. We, children of darkness and ignorance, should bow down and worship our betters. When we don't, and we do not, they, knowing better, scold and detain us. They offer those of us better behaved more and newer toys and a place to play till we are gone under the hooves of Islam. It is good that we go because we are not worthy, we who destroy the natural and the high and the spiritual.

We cannot defend ourselves because our existence is indefensible. We are materialists rather than gnostics, a herd of beasts rather than a clique of priests. We are no good. We should go.

We are not intellectuals. Those of us who might think so are fools who attribute to the demiurge the good; and those who know, the true gnostics, they grasp the pleroma if not the monad. No, the rest of us at best are merely Rightwing religious bigots who know not the truth about the higher God who has no concern for the mud world of creation. We, the falsely conscious, are fools who do no know. And because we do not know and insist we do, we are condemned to corruption forever till we are finally wasted for good. Our only hope of salvation is to return to that which we are better suited: we are not special and gifted with insight into the pleroma; we must give up our pretenses and return to a primitive state of intuition wherein we might regain some semblance of innocence and authenticity that we have lost by mucking around in the material world. We should simply leave the search for knowledge to those who understand, and we should beg those we've abandoned to have us back so we can be real within our means, so we can roam the world like 7th century Muslims in a greater state of nature and naive religiosity.

But we won't because we are too evil to stop our materialistic ways. Since we won't stop, we must be stopped. We must be controlled and made to accept the better state of being that is the nature of those who are closer to their natural innocence, the barbarians that we truly were but are no longer due to our corruption and isolation from nature as we live in cities and in realms of commerce and other anti-spiritual mediocrity. We should just die, but if we won't, then we should leave the primitives to live as they will, and if they conquer and force the survivors to accept the prior state of natural innocence and naive religion, this is to the good.

Yes, Muslims are going to kill us. But that's OK. We deserve it. We are banal, mediocre, petty. We don't recognise the special state of reality that the gnostics grasp. We worship the demiugre of Mamon rather than the true God of social harmony emanating through the offices of the Golden Ones.

But this play is a farce.

Worse, these idiots are going to get us all killed. The house is coming down, and the play is stupid and crazy are repellent. I, for one, don't care for it. I boo and hiss. I reject the whole thing as a poor play by an idiot and his troupe of ham actors. this gnostic nonsense sucks. I've had enough of it. I'm walking.

Exit: Stage Right.

The majority of people are sitting passively in their seats watching this kindergarten drama. But some and more are leaving it for fresh air and sunlight. Yes, the players are attempting to lock the doors on the collapsing edifice. Those on the outside are condemned from the stage, from the pulpit, from the lecterns.

Burn, baby, burn.

For those who escape from convenient windows, from under the rotten floorboards, through any available cracks in walls, there is exile from the community of crazies. And here in the light of reason and decency we must organise ourselves.

For what? What are we, our huddle masses, to do? Forget now the passive, the actors, the play. If we are charged, then it is to the good for us.

We'll take it up next day, our regard for a new covenant of Man. We'll meet to think aloud freely and fairly. Exiles from the madness of phantasies and harm, refugees from insanities and violence, we can build again a greatness in a new land of freedom across the globe, a world of freedom and liberty and jusitice for all. We, each of us, will be a new colossus, not any longer the passive slaves of the priests of the gnostic turvy. It's time for us to stand, to act, to turn the right upright.

Let us march.

The New Colossus

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
"Keep ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

We will defend our good.

What a great thing we have before us, our time to win. We are blessed.

THE GOLDEN AGE?

I'm happy to announce that our friend Charles will be joining in as a regular contributor to this blog. Here is his first piece.
****

THE GOLDEN AGE vs THE HAPPY ENDING:
THE REAL CLASH OF CIVILIZATIONS?

Dag's recent post mentioned the French director
Jean-Luc Goddard. This got me to thinking about
other French filmmakers, and the tone of European cinema in general.

Isn't it fair to say that one of the
distinguishing characteristics, historically,
between European cinema and Hollywood's film
output, is the concept of the Happy Ending? Our
films end with the hero victorious, boy getting
girl, cowboys riding off into the sunset after
ridding the town of outlaws. The Happy Ending is
so routine that we barely notice it exists until
the rare exception reveals its absence.
Many Europeans I've spoken with over the years
tend to mock American movies for their Happy
Endings. "Life's not like that", they solemnly
declare; "life is tragedy, and its naïve for Americans to believe otherwise."

The unspoken implication (and sometimes not so
unspoken): only an idiot believes that the future
can be better than the past. Life is about
failure, and degeneration. The future holds only
sorrow: it's all downhill from here.

Therefore European films, unless they are
strategically aiming for box office success with
a North American audience, tend to provide
endings that are either inconclusive, Pyrrhic
victories, or outright tragedy. There is genuine
disdain for the option of living happily ever after.

Why is this? Why the different point of view?
I've long wondered about this distinct difference
in tastes, and what might lie at the core of this
difference. I propose that the cause of this
effect is the belief in a Golden Age.

I've grown to hate that term, for the damage that
I see it causing us all, due to its assumption
that change is only negative. Isn't it harmful to
a person's sense of initiative to go around
believing that the best things have already
happened? Doesn't it deflate our sense of
adventure to believe that our discoveries will
matter less than those of the past? Where is the
urge to make a contribution if we truly believed
that we would only be contributing to making things worse, not better?

Surely, belief in a Golden Age is a cage that
traps the soul by chaining our inherent ability
to improve. Belief in a Golden Age is an
admission of only one form of change: decay.
Belief in a Golden Age is an absolute denial of
another form of change: progress.

Denying progress condemns us to a view of life
more as animals live it: endlessly formulaic,
seeing human beings programmed like robots to
merely repeat that which was done before, and
judged by nature by how successfully we duplicate
this "ideal" model established by our teachers.

Our art is an extension of ourselves. The
Traditional Hollywood Ending, as the Happy Ending
is condescending called by its critics, reflects
the North American experience of The New World,
and our success at improvement over the old model
of the Old World of Old Europe. We are treated as
blasphemers for having exceeded our betters, for
having succeeded in making our present better
than their past, as the curious child dares to
add to the foundation of learning its parents
provided him. For as children we recognize that
we live in only a temporary state of inferiority;
if we live up to our potential we can rise higher
than our parents have, we can lead a new life;
"What do you want to be when you grow up?" is
such a common question we pose to our children
that we take it for granted. How universal a
question is it these days? It is not indulging in
childhood fantasy to ask it: almost any answer is
within the realm of possibility. We are not
cursed to live in the shadows of greatness, like
a medieval peasant toiling behind oxen on a
baron's land. And we are definitely not cursed to
repeat the lives our parents led, following in
their footsteps because there is only one trail that remains open to us.

Our increasing clash with Islam seems built on
this clash of beliefs: that man has the potential
to choose his fate, that a loving god like a
loving parent would expect us to discover this
potential; that a truly loving parent, like any
good teacher, would not feel lessened to see the
child improve so as to one day live a greater life than the parent did.

The student must never surpass the teacher: that
is the burden of the Golden Age.

The student can exceed the teacher: that is the promise of the Happy Ending.

Which side are you on?

Hollywood. Isn't it time we let that impudent little brat cry it's self to sleep? Of course, we're inclined to lay considerable blame for the state of our of culture (i.e. the excess, the greed, the over-stimulation, etc.) squarely in the lap of the Hollywood and media/entertainment establishment, but I don't think that is entirely fair. As the old saying goes, "you are what you eat;" and we are voracious consumers of the Hollywood product. We choose to trade our time and treasure for an always diminishing, ever insulting product; perhaps hoping that this time it'll be better, but hardly ever surprised that it isn't. What comes out of Hollywood, what takes up miles and miles of glossy pages between the dirty sheets of celebrity magazines and what we habitually click through hundreds of cable channels for is a reflection of who and what we are. If we didn't crave such mindless pap, there wouldn't be a market for it.

The Hollywood personalities are equally reprehensible: a cast of plastic, soulless characters whose very essence is a nauseating dance of egomania grappled with infantile insecurity. Is it any wonder then that such a people, with their grossly over-estimated sense of self-worth, not to mention the incessant whining and victimization complexes (e.g. My movie didn't make any money? Well, the people must be stupid! And they're censoring me! Not unlike certain Democrat politicians who get wiped at the polls, eh?) are rabid liberals? Unthinking, unintelligent, the-world-owes-me liberals. And these people are not only the face of American media, but the American face in media abroad as well. And these same people, do they not bemoan American culture and do they not fret about how America is perceived abroad, even as they trash her and fawn over the world's tyrants? Don't come into my home, crap on my rug and complain to me about the smell, ok?

As to an "alliance" between the Hollywood Left and Islam, how could there not be with all of those self-hatin' Jews in California. Was that imprudent of me?

At first I thought the whole beheading angle in this piece was a bit of stretch, but then I remembered what the critically lauded director of "Paradise Now" had to say about suicide bombings. And Morton's, yes. The absurdity of asking such a question, but then again, these are absurd people.

****

Hollyweird. I can't say I have much regard for people who get paid obscene amounts of money to hit their marks and look pretty, especially when such personalities are not only wedded to the most inane of ideas, but feel obligated to insist that we should be to. There are a few class acts in the Hollywood machine, but they are few and far between with no measurable influence or clout; and frankly that's why I like them. They come, they do their jobs, and then they get the hell off the stage.

I'm not saying they shouldn't be allowed their opinions, but many of these pinheads are so warped by the power and influence we've given them that they feel no shame in using their celebrity to advance their ludicrous agendas.
****

And here we have it again: what is this faith the otherwise godless intelligentsia have for Communism? Whether it's the George Bernard Shaws of yesterday, or the tenured luminaries of today, the Jane Fonda's of Vietnam or the Oliver Stones of Cuba, to the mindless bureaucrats, corporate fascists and domesticated civil servants in our own government, from whence does this fascination for extreme homogeneous utopia keep springing? And it's not from lack of factual evidence as to the wrong-headedness of such thinking seeing as great lengths are taken by many to revise the history of socialism and Communism; and revision is a conscious process. Yet everyone keeps insisting that they'll do it right this time; that they are the ones who have figured it out; that the secrets to civilization have been unlocked by them and only them. It's hubris. It's totalitarianism.

Playing the fool to the point of madness.

When we claim to have probelms with the French do we mean Rousseau or Jean-Luc Godard? But no, we mean Racine and Jarry. And when we think of yoots we think not of rampaging violent Muslim thugs but of -- soccer hooligans.

Folks, this summer in France is going to be a long weekend.

French lawmakers pass anti-hooligan bill on first reading

PARIS -- French lawmakers took a first step Tuesday toward approving an anti-hooligan bill that would give authorities more power to crack down on racism and discrimination at soccer stadiums.

[....]

France, like elsewhere in Europe, has faced rising violence and racism at soccer stadiums. National police have counted 332 incidents of violence in French stadiums this season.

A law voted on in January allows regional officials to ban thugs from soccer matches, forcing them to report to police stations on match days.

Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy, who first announced the bill last month, has said he wants to rid stadiums of hooligans.

France Beyond Remedy: Sarkozy a Worthy Dauphin of Chirac by Paul Belien, The Brussels Journal
Tuesday, April 11, 2006

France is beyond remedy. The country is heading for collapse, and its fate will be well deserved. As expected the French trade unions and the rioting leftwing vandals (aka "students") in the streets won the fight for political supremacy over parliament and the government. Yesterday the French president Jack Chirac withdrew the French youth labour bill (CPE), approved earlier by a parliamentary majority, while the man he stabbed in the back by doing so, Chirac's former dauphin and France's Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin, announced that he will not stand for the presidential elections next year.

Villepin's CPE would have enabled French employers to lower the cost of job creation by allowing them to hire first-time employees under the age of 26 for a conditional two-year period during which they could be fired without much hassle. Last August a similar bill was introduced allowing small companies, with fewer than 20 employees, to fire new employees during a trial period without the normal prohibitive procedures that make it impossible for companies to hire and fire in response to market demands. As a direct result of the new bill, these small companies were able to create 335,000 new jobs. France's students, however, have made it clear that they would rather not have a job – and live at the expense of the state welfare system – than have a job which is not guaranteed to be virtually life-long.

It is to Villepin's credit that he fought for his bill. It is to the discredit of his rival, Nicolas Sarkozy, whom we at one time mistakingly took for a defender of law and order and of free-market reforms, that he called for surrender to the demands of the rioters and the trade unions. With Villepin's announcement that he will not stand for the presidential elections the road is now wide open for Sarkozy to become the presidential candidate of the governing UMP. However, those who assume that Sarkozy, if he becomes president, will be bold enough to deliver the market reforms that France badly needs, are deluded. His stance on the CPE has made that clear enough. Sarkozy has proved to be a worthy successor to Jack "Spineless" Chirac.

Last December 17th The Economist wrote an analysis on the situation in France, entitled "After the riots" (referring to the previous round of rioting in la douce France in November). Here is a quote, which shows how in barely five months a political situation can change dramatically:

"Mr Sarkozy's success is not guaranteed. A [poll] ranked him as only the fourth most popular politician on the right. Mr de Villepin came top, with a seven-point lead. UMP deputies know that the prime minister has wider appeal to the centre and the left, making him a better second-round candidate. [...] The more Mr Sarkozy leans to the right, the more space there is in the centre for Mr de Villepin."

In the end it did not turn out to be a competition between the politician of the right and the one of the centre, but between the principled and the unprincipled. As almost always, the unprincipled man won the day.

In this respect there is not much difference with the situation in Italy, where Silvio Berlusconi might narrowly lose or win the elections in which the Italians were given a non-choice, between two unprincipled politicians, neither of them willing to introduce the economic reforms that Italy badly needs. The same was true during last year's German elections. Waldemar Ingdahl's contribution today also refers to the European disease. The "old continent" is dying from welfarism, but the patient is refusing treatment. The citizens are forced into voting for populists, most of whom do not want to reform the welfare state either and simply hope to prolong its survival by throwing out the immigrants, bad ones (Islamic jihadists) and good ones (Polish plumbers) alike.

Once, if my memory serves me well, my life was a banquet where every heart revealed itself, where every wine flowed.

One evening I took Beauty in my arms-- and I thought her bitter-- and I insulted her.

I steeled myself against justice.

I fled. O witches, O misery, O hate, my treasure was left in your care...

I have withered within me all human hope. With the silent leap of a sullen beast, I have downed and strangled every joy.

I have called for executioners; I want to perish chewing on their gun butts. I have called for plagues, to suffocate in sand and blood. Unhappiness has been my god. I have lain down in the mud, and dried myself off in the crime-infested air. I have played the fool to the point of madness.

And springtime brought me the frightful laugh of an idiot.

Now recently, when I found myself ready to croak! I thought to seek the key to the banquet of old, where I might find an appetite again.

That key is Charity. (This idea proves I was dreaming!)

"You will stay a hyena, etc....," shouts the demon who once crowned me with such pretty poppies. "Seek death with all your desires, and all selfishness, and all the Seven Deadly Sins."

Ah, I've taken too much of that; still, dear Satan, don't look so annoyed, I beg you! And while waiting for a few belated cowardices, since you value in a writer all lack of descriptive or didactic flair, I pass you these few foul pages from the diary of a Damned Soul.

Arthur Rimbaud, "A Season in Hell."

The French are our own. What is to be done?

First four stills from Jean-Luc Godard, Weekend.

Whimmitude: No-Name Africans and the highly special Genevieve Cora Fraser

The link immediately below is from Nigeria, detailing some recent events of interest to all of us, even Leftists who will claim that Islam's rempage through Africa is a legacy of Western imperialism. How little do they realise how right they are for all the wrong reasons. Rather than burst and emotional valve here I offer this link to some first-hand reportage. I find this story a heart break, not simply because of the girls endangered or dead but for the Muslimahs turned into whimmi parodies of Humanity, lunatic beasts.

And following our first tragedy of whimmitude there follows one different but even more disgusting. The second peice is from a longer entry, an interview of a pal. with an American piece of shit. I leave it to the reader to editorialise further. I emphasised some relevant parts. They would have been obvious to the reader anyway, but I got so sick of the woman below that I felt I could indulge myself with some visible outrage without damage. There are some details of her life at the last entry. There is nothing about the Nigerian girls.

American - How are things there? I see some news but not too much.
Palestinian - Here the situation is very difficult and hard.
American - Yes
Palestinian - There is a big closure.
American - I am just reading about EU cutting funding to Palestine and all the borders?
Palestinian - Yes
American - That is bad. No food in and no produce out to sell to get money.
Palestinian - All borders are closed. No fundraising, no economy and no way to live.
American - I guess no medicines either?
Palestinian - Nothing here.
American - Yes
Palestinian - We are just dead people. Of course, no medicines also.
American - Who gets paid now?
Palestinian - Just UNRWA employers get paid.
American - Yes
Palestinian - Governmental employees are not paid.
American - No body else is what I read. I wish things were very different in both of our nations. I see Olmert is set to have his way about the borders also Kadima party often told the Likud coalition negotiating team that Kadima plans to implement its convergence plan to uproot dozens of Jewish towns in Judea and Samaria by 2008. He will be doing it before new elections here so Bush must be in agreement.
Palestinian - aha
American - Perhaps he fears waiting until we have a new president.
Palestinian - I believe there will be hardship, difficulty and no progress in the peace process.
American - I wish many things but I think you are right. Israel will take the land and water she wants and no one will stop her now.
Palestinian - Palestinians and Israelis will both suffer a lot.
American - If she can kill off Palestinians or make them leave running for their lives he will take all of the land. Yes?
Palestinian - There will be too much resistance and no one can live without water, so they will fight and do their best to live.
American - Both will suffer and both will fight. And the settlers he plans to move will be fighting also.
Palestinian - Sure.
American - Everyone wants Palestine I guess.
Palestinian - Of course, we want Palestine for us.
American - It will be a mess for years more.
Palestinian - Of course
American - And you should have Palestine - at the least you should have back to the pre 1967 borders.
Palestinian - Palestine is Palestine
American - It seems always it is Palestine who suffers and is robbed of more and more. I hate that my nation here has any part in that.
Palestinian - So giving them up to 1967 borders is too impossible to leave?
American - They now have about 1/4 of a million Jews living in the West Bank.
Palestinian - aha
American - They have built their land grab wall. How can you undo all that?
Palestinian - By Jihad we will be able to get them out.
American - I don't really think so, but I wish you well in trying.
Palestinian - By peace Israeli will not get out or leave.
American - It is as always Palestine who will starve and suffer the most and die the most. There is no way to get all Israel out of the West Bank unless other nations will stand with Palestine. Then it could be done without war.
Palestinian - I am not sure but hope so that it happens without war.
American - It is preferable.
Palestinian - ya
American - But who will stand with Palestine? Even the other Arabs and Muslims have not done that.
Palestinian - No one. No Arab nations, no EU, no America.
American - I know and they are all wrong. But how can it be changed? Who will stand with Palestine... or if necessary fight alongside Palestine?
Palestinian - We have to convince the peoples not the nations.
American - I think you are right. The nations follow America who follows Israel.
Palestinian - Yes and to convince the people not the governments.
American - But how? Is it possible?
Palestinian - I think it's not easy but possible. Why not?

Genevieve Cora Fraser is a poet, playwright and journalist as well as a long-standing environmental and human rights activist living in Massachusetts.

****

Genevieve Cora Fraser was born in Massachusetts in 1945 and moved to a small farming community in New Hampshire as a child. She is a playwright, director, poet, historian and journalist and attended the University of New Hampshire (UNH) in the late 1960s where she met Salim Tamari director of the Institute for Jerusalem Studies (an institution affiliated with the Institute for Palestine Studies), and an associate professor of sociology at Birzeit University. It was through her friendship with Tamari that she first was drawn to the Palestinian issue.

Fraser left college during the height of the Viet-Nam War to work at the local Public Broadcasting System NHN-TV and later served as editor of the Today Paper of Greater Lawrence (MA). She returned to UNH, graduating in Theater and Communications in 1979 and received an MFA in Theater Playwriting in 1981 from Brandeis University. She has been a long-standing environmental and human rights activist. In the 1970s she was active with the NAACP, helping to organize inner city black youth coalitions. In the 1980s she received an Environmental Commendation as an activist and organizer of the Massachusetts Acid Rain Awareness Weeks, wrote the Literacy Study for Northern Worcester County, and developed a major exhibit, "Native Americans in Harmony with Nature." In the 1990s, she served as coordinator of the Northern Tier Transportation Initiative which resulted in the development of a public bus system spanning two counties in rural Massachusetts. Fraser is also politically active and served as an aide for a state senator for five years and is currently the artistic director of the Drama Circle, a venue for original works for the stage and screen. Submissions of plays, poems, short stories and screenplays involving the Palestinian/Israeli conflict are welcome. Readings will be televised and shown locally.
