There will be those who hate Modernity, and we can only take some pleasure in the blessing of having them to fight, making real and valid through effort our commitment to the good. If we work for our Modernity, it's better than just having it and not having to bother to care much about it, a something for nothing. Hared as this is, it's the best thing for us.
