Blazing Cat Fur's Smokin' Blog

This is what you might think you get at Blazing Cat Fur:

It's not "right wing" - it's pro-war, pro-U.S., virulently Islamophobic, McCarthyite - and that's just after 3 minutes of reading the front page...

Phrillie, how did you happen on that blog? It is truly repulsive.

In my own defense, I was once given an award as the Internet's worst blog. But I admit, I cannot compete with this photo:

See above for the heart-rending story. Hey, do it while you can. The way the Left dhimmi fascists are performing here we might all end up in jail -- with no Internet. Yoiks!

It would be easy to believe that Canada is filled to bursting with zealous radical Leftists bent on engineering every social problem they can imagine and therefore create. It looks like they are everywhere and the most important people in the nation. But no, there is merely a small but energetic faction of activist who dominate this nation and any others with their religious crusade to save the world. I call them Death Hippies.

It's been a genuine pleasure over these past few years here to encounter Canadians who are at odds with the Death Hippies, those men and women who have the courage and conviction to withstand the terrible onslaught of the religious fanatics who do so much harm, destroying the very lives of many, even ending their lives, as I can see from the untimely demise of too many caught in fascist their grips.

Today we see the Death Hippies going full-tilt against Ezra Levant, for example, in their quest for religious purity. And then there are those like Blazing Cat Fur and many others who stand up to them. Here in Vancouver we see people like Rachel Davis standing up to the left dhimmi fascism so prevalent here, and we see the harm done to her. The courage of those under attack is admirable and inspiring.

Conditions are changing in the West and across the world at large. It's due to those few who take the lead and face the buffeting of those in power at this time that we might retain our rights. I would guess that most people don't deeply care about free speech and the right to lawful assembly. We mostly assume it, and if we don't have it I think we don't care too much, shrugging and carrying on with the loss. We are diminished by that apathy and perhaps even a dislike of freedom. it takes only a few to take away our freedoms so hard won and so dearly bought over the generations. We could easily find ourselves, without too much public complaint, living in a nation similar to Singapore. Though few would care, all would suffer, and few would even notice.

All the more admirable to find a small band of democrats who work so hard and so bravely on behalf of all of us.

Thanks, Geert, thanks Ezra, thanks Rachel.

I see. You were voted "Worst. Blog. Ever." by the commenter "Worst Blog Ever".

That's got to be a compliment. I mean what kind of loser...

I remember once reading some death hippie from Australia who was using you as the epitome of evil.

Ditto.

Since we are on the topic of introducing blogs of interest, here are another two: The Black Rod and Mesopotamia West. The first one is based out of Winnipeg and its commentaries on the Canadian military operations in Afghanistan, among other things, is worth following. The second one is by the person in the tourism business I mentioned to you before. He hacks away at Canadian multiculturalism.

Thanks, Geert, thanks Ezra, thanks Rachel.

And don't forget to thank that wily old fox, the Pope, whose every move is carefully calculated to make excellent points that take the wind out of the other side's sail.

Things change. When Ratzinger and I were both younger he was in charge of Catholic orthodoxy, what I thought of as him being some kind of Dominican Storm-Trooper.

Peers write often of resentment, and as often i write of attitude. I could easily resent my education, but instead, in spite of it, I try to look on this as a matter of learning better and more and having the sense to be grateful that I can overcome some of the bullshit of my youth. If I'd started out liking this guy as much as I do now I would not now appreciate how great he is. I could never go so far as a 180 degree turn had I liked him to begin with. Now I stand in awe.

We have many such people on our side. When Charles and Peers write of humility, I begin to understand that too.

At the least, a member of that cabal will stop you from airing your views on the Internet by getting Big Brother Google to delete your blog summarily on the pretext of TOS violation. Better keep an eye out for alternative means of exchanging ideas and information. Google is getting too big for its breeches.

Death Hippies - man can I steal that?

Swap you my Death Hippies for your photo of the tank!

Heh, heh, heh! Ex...cellent! We get tarred with the brush of right-wing neo-con Zionist Islamophobic warmongering Crusaders and Dag supplies the ammo of Death Hippies for the return fire. Here's hoping the term becomes popular. To that end, can you put up a link to its definition?

I'll see if I can come up with a post to explain how it is that I use the phrase "Death Hippies."

I have a bit coming first perhaps on Cafeterian Christianity, but Death Hippies is right there as well.

I just had an inspiration. You can set up a little sideline business like this to get the cool kids to wear your stuff and popularize the phrase. The Death Hippies are pushing their agenda by getting the hip set to wear the intifada scarves, so let's copy their tactic. I have the perfect catchy tagline for the T-shirt and bumper sticker: "Have you slapped some sense into a Death Hippie today?" I'll leave you to find the right complementary image. I'll buy a few of those T-shirts if you're game.

You've had me thinking this over for a few days, and tonight I'll discuss it with the folks at our meeting. I have the imaage in mind now, though I need someone to make it work, a photoshop task I can't do but that's simple enough for those who can.

Speaking of Death Hippies, there was another roomful of them last night at VPL to listen to a debate between a leftist and a lunatic Leftist. It was during that ordeal that I came up with the image I hope to get. Thanks for this. I love it.
