Hot Chocolate

There goes my diet. I love chocolate.

Jack at divedesk has a story on Mohammed and Sex. I'll get to it later. I'm sure it's good. He's a very classy and funny writer.

I like strawberries, too.

Yes, but she'll still love ME anyway. Pastorius has no chance.

What is this? All of our high rhetoric and grand philosophies go out the window when you see the babe who want to love me? your are communicating, I'll have you know, with a man who can handle a syrup covered babe and still read Sophocles at the same time he lied. That's the kind of man you're up against here, bud. No chance for you.

I know. I submit.

And, you can have her anyway. She's too skinny for me.

Yeah, that's Islamic reform! I'm totally in flavor of it.

Yo dag ... thank you

We all have to find our own niche in the ongoing struggle. For me I have to use satire. If not I think I’d go bezerk, but in reality I’m dead serious.

Can you get me a link in the Allies section on IBA?

Jack, you're site is so much fun for the sophisticated reader that I'll plug your work any way I can.

Love your gal!

You! You're making me want to move back down there.

I'd do it to save them from the perils of Islam, of course. And for the sake of the magnolia trees in the Spring. For the sake of the folks in the parlour in the evening coming round to play a few tunes, a trumpet here, a sax there, Jimmy on drums, Billy sits in at the piano, and the girls sing, Elb plays bass, and we we dance we move live the ocean and open up like the skies.

The number at the bottom of the page is the number of visits here since we bagan back in late May.

For the first six or seven months our purpose was almost strictly to develop the thesis that the Left and the hiotorical Right are the same animal, hence today's "Left dhimmi fascism." The writing is often times dense and boring, the texts cluttered with jargon, and occasionally I'd abandon the task to go on a rant about Presbyterians consorting with murderers. The readers we had, this being a bit of a group effort, would drop from the usual 20 to 30 people per day to five or ten who waited out my hysterias.

Even so, most of the people who work with me and who provide me with insights and fodder for ridicule here seldom bothered to read the blog itself. The number now after close to a year is still next to insignificant. That deters me not in the slightest.

The number of visits has more than doubled in the past two months over the preceding seven, and that because of the cartoon issue that has brought many people to a better understanding of jihad and Islam. At the same time, I find I'm badly distracted from the work originally intended. That's the sorry price of success.

I try to take this opportunity of a wider audience to promote other projects, such as Jack's divedesk. I don't put up links to others for two reasons: one, that I can't figure out how; and secondly because if I do I'll find myself cluttering up the panel with those I might feel obligated to list against my better judgement; therefore, when I do post someone's link or someone's work I go to some effort to make sure that our readers know that I either like it or I do not.

I have done some very mean-spirited things to some people, Presbyterians, for example, and I have come close to being criminally insenstive toward some writers I find to be so stupid that I find them unbearable and highly deserving of ridicule if not spanking.

There was an occasion where I went too far and ridiculed a young divinity student by name. That was wrong on my part, and though he and his friends no doubt dismissed me as a cranky old bastard who don't know nothin I still regret my action.

On the other hand, there are some fine writers who deserve much attention for reasons not only of clarity of expression and high intelligence, wit, and insight but who are superb stylists, some of them being Trotskyites and assorted socialists. To them I try to give all the credit and support I can for their works, whether I agree with them or not.

I sometimes post work by fellow bloggers who do exceptionally interesting and valuable services to our world. The problem with the blogosphere is that it is huge and growing, and to get out of my usual five or six visits per day is an effort I seldom make. Too bad for me.

Finally, I do try to post essays from our readers here where appropriate. I welcome them and encourage them. Those, like eyesallaround, leave links when they comment here, which allows us to follow up on visits to their sites. If I don't post directly I do encourage others to go directly to see what others think.

Yes, I think it might be nice to have a multitude of readers daily, but I don't warrant that kind of attention with the copy I produce. Within the confines of whatever small niche I occupy I hope I do the job well enough to satisfy those who come here.

And my final conclusion is that I would like people to feel free to use the comments section to orgainise personal meetings. I love the Internet, it making us aware of each other in ways not possible before, but it's not enough: we still need to see each other face to face to decide what kinds of people we are. When we meet and find that we are indeed truly people as we claim to be, then we can begin the difficult work of defeating the evils of our time, primarily Islamic. And being a people person kind of guy, I like meeting people anyway. All the better if we can met for a reason and do good work.

If you're a coffee drinker, Eyes, I just might get on my motorcycle and head down to Texas and buy you one of the best.

We're close to a thousand miles away, but I appreciate the thought.

If there are fellow jihadwatchers in Calgary you should get together and make friends. I think I know one who'd be fun to meet. I'll do what I can and hope for the best.
